Does your program accept IMG's?
A:

Yes.

Q:
Do I need to apply through ERAS?
A:

We only accept applications through ERAS.

Q:
Do you sponsor J or H visas?
A:

J and only after successful acceptance.

Q:
Do you have a cutoff limit of USMLE scores?
A:

Scores are a strong consideration but are not the only criteria. We do not have a rigid cutoff.

Q:
Do you require transitional year as pre-requisite?
A:

In accordance with the ACGME we require a preliminary clinical year.

Q:
Do you need ECFMG certification before applying?
A:

For IMG's all ECFMG requirements need to be fulfilled.

Q:
Do I need a step two score to be accepted into your program?
A:

We prefer step 1 & 2, but it is not mandatory.

Q:
What is your deadline for receiving applications?
A:

We coincide with ERAS.

Q:
How many letters of recommendation do you require?
A:

A minimum of 3 letters.

Q:
Do you require a letter from the Dean?
A:

Yes.

Q:
Do you require a personal statement/transcript?
A:

Both are required.

Q:
Are there any IMG's currently in your program?
A:

Yes.

Do you arrange the preliminary (clinical) year?

No.

Do you accept COMLEX scores in place of USMLE?
A:

We accept what is accepted by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, which includes USMLE and COMLEX.

Q:
What are your graduation period requirements?
A:

4 year program after 1 clinical year.

Q:
Do you participate in NRMP?
A:

Yes, through ERAS.
