MISSION STATEMENT

LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport Department of Radiology is committed to providing excellence in diagnostic imaging, image-guide interventions and therapy, quality patient care and multidisciplinary cooperation in clinical activities, continuous education and research.

DECALOGUE

1. To sustain a safe, caring, and pleasant environment where patients are treated with understanding, compassion, and a professional attitude.
2. To develop an effective clinical practice by offering patient centered streamlined processes performed in a timely fashion.
3. To create a supportive, cohesive, collegial department culture where communication and leadership are commonplace at all levels of the organization.
4. To foster improvements of patient care and utilization of resources (human, technological, and physical space) by multidisciplinary interaction and synergism.
5. To optimize our activities and processes in order to make them cost-effective as to sustain a financially sound organization.
6. To enhance continuous medical education of technologists, nurses, administrators, medical students, and physicians.
7. To participate in the development of community screening programs for early detection of disease and to identify populations at risk for specific illnesses.
8. To increase the participation of imaging techniques in basic and clinical research.
9. To provide leadership to the radiology community by offering organizational tools for clinical practice, CME programs, and academic opportunities for technologists and physicians.
10. To stimulate ingenuity and innovation in the practice of medicine in order to adapt and thrive in a constantly changing healthcare environment.
